Friends of Vision: Empowering Futures
Who We Are:
We are a dedicated assembly of individuals committed to the vision of property ownership through collaborative efforts.
As a self-help group supported by KCB Bank, we are a registered entity established in 2018 within Nakuru County. Our collective mission revolves around the aspiration of securing homes or plots for our members.
What We Do:
- Land acquisition and subdivision into plots
- Member savings at a rate of 350 per week
- Provision of small loans for education, construction, and entrepreneurial endeavors
Achievements:
Our milestones speak of progress and impact:
- Procurement of 2 acres of prime land for 28 Phase Two members in August 2021, located next to Soar Kenya Academy.
- Ongoing Phase Three (as of December 2022) – Friends of Vision continues to pursue its vision of expanding opportunities.
- Acquisition of 2 acres of prime land for 35 Phase One members in 2019 at Ng’ambo, Umoja Estate.
Results/Impact of Friends of Vision:
- Enabling 75 families to own small plots through collective savings and three successful land purchases facilitated by bank loans.
- Over 12 families have settled on these plots, freeing them from the burden of rental payments.
- Acquiring approximately 5 acres of land within a span of five years.
- Providing homes, albeit some constructed from mud, serves as a sanctuary for cancer victims and prevents families from facing homelessness. This initiative secures a promising future for the patients’ children.
The story of Friends of Vision stands as a testament to resilience, determination amidst challenges, and the profound strength of unity in pursuing a noble cause.
